7. Increasing Opportunities for Young People
Opportunities exist to enhance the internal working relationship with Council's Youth Services to increase participation by young people in structured and unstructured recreational activity. A key aspect of this objective will be to engage young people in discussion about their needs.
Key outcomes for the next four years include:
- Established consultation processes that provide an effective opportunity to plan for and understand the needs of young people
- Facilitated initiatives associated with skate / BMX activities and skate events
- Improved pathways that encourage interested students to pursue activities and opportunities with local sport and recreation clubs
