The Recreation Services Team

Welcome James Collins,
Manager Recreation Services Team
'I am looking forward to the challenge of providing the best possible range of services and facilities to the Monash sporting community. I have been making my way around the municipality to visit all the reserves and sporting facilities. The most refreshing thing to see is the pride and responsibility clubs are taking to assist with the upkeep of the facilities. I look forward to meeting and working with all clubs and committees in the near future.' James Collins

Congratulations Carly Goodrich,
New Recreation Services Coordinator.
'I am excited by the opportunity to work closer with Clubs around facility management and development, whilst continuing to promote sport and recreation within the City of Monash through the Recreation Services team.' Carly Goodrich

Good luck Elise Ierufi,
Recreation Services Trainee.
Elise will complete her traineeship with the City of Monash in early June. We wish Elise all the best for her future career. 'I would like to take this time thank the City of Monash and Inner Eastern Group Training (IEGT) for the fantastic opportunity of undertaking my traineeship in Business Administration Certificate III over the past 12 months. It has been a great experience working for the City of Monash; I have learnt so much and the friendly staff been very supportive along the way.' Elise Ierufi

The Jack Meade Oval

Clayton Reserve Oval was recently renamed 'Jack Meade Oval' in honour of footy club legend Jack Meade. Jack worked for the community for over 50 years in a variety of roles and in his early days he played in the reserves and senior premierships.

The decision to rename the oval after Jack, who died in 2003, was welcomed by the local sporting community and his family members. His brother Frank said, "This is a great honour for my brother and for the three generations of Meade family member show have been involved in footy".

Council has applied for the Clayton Reserve complex to be renamed 'Meade Reserve'. Submissions regarding the name change are welcomed from the community up until 3 June 2009.
