Trail Directions
Important note: This walk begins and ends at the same point.
- This walk begins at the end of Mulgrave Reserve carpark. Walk through the barrier, onto the Dandenong Creek Trail. On the left are paddocks with livestock while on your right you will see the Dandenong Creek.
- Follow the trail up the hill, where it meanders for around 1.7 km through the Corhanwarrabul Wetlands. These wetlands are a naturally occurring ecosystem, home to many species of birds and other wildlife. Along the way you will pass an information station which provides details of many other parks located within Victoria. Continue along the trail for another 1.2 km where you will come to a T intersection just before Ferntree Gully Road. (It is at this point those wishing to extend the walk should turn right, which will take you through the picturesque Jells Park).
- Turn left and walk for approximately 30 metres to Elmstead Drive. Turn left again and continue walking up Elmstead Drive, passing Summerhill Avenue, Oakbank Court and Pineview Close. Turn left at Haversham Avenue. Continue up the hill along Haversham Avenue for approximately 700 metres, where you will come to a roundabout at Garnett Road.
- At the roundabout turn left into Garnett Road. When walking along Garnett Road be sure to take in the beautiful views of the Dandenong Ranges. As you continue along the walk you will once again pass the paddocks and eventually you will come to a children's playground. From here it is a short stroll through the playground, back to the Mulgrave Reserve carpark.
