Objective:

Council facilities and open spaces are accessible and inclusive of the needs of people with a disability

3.1	Ensure that consultation processes about Council projects are inclusive of people with a disability.	2009-2010 and then ongoing	All Units	People with a disability, their families and carers are included in consultation processes.
3.2	Explore opportunities for improved access to Council's reception counters to ensure they are accessible especially for people who are using a wheelchair.	2010-2011	Corporate Administration Community Services	Council's reception counters have been made accessible.
3.3	Undertake an audit of signage within Council buildings and open spaces to ensure Council meets DDA requirements.	2010-2011	Urban Design	Council has completed audit and has prioritised and costed the installation of appropriate signage.
3.4	Ensure that Council parks and gardens provide equitable access and user friendly facilities	2010-2012	Urban Design	Complete an audit of Council parks and gardens and recommend to Council improvements where required
