Disability Access and Inclusion Framework and Action Plan 2009 – 2013

Introduction

The Monash Disability Access and Inclusion Framework and Action Plan 2009–2013 is a strategic framework that builds on Council's current achievements and further strengthens Council's capacity to continue to address access and inclusion issues for people with a disability, their families and carers.

The Framework demonstrates Council's commitment to improve its responsiveness and quality of its services, programs, facilities and systems in addressing the needs and aspirations of people with a disability.

The Framework outlines how Council will address access and inclusion issues to ensure that people with a disability are provided with opportunities to fully participate in all aspects of life in Monash.

The Monash Disability Access and Inclusion Framework outlines Council's priorities for the next four years and identifies specific actions to be implemented in a whole of Council approach within this time frame.

The implementation of the actions outlined in the Framework is the responsibility of units across Council, as specified in the Action Plan, however responsibility for the overall management, implementation and evaluation of the Framework and Action Plan and reporting to Council and other entities lies with the Community Planning and Development Unit.
