Council operates a 60 place Child Care Centre at 33 Brine St, Hughesdale.
The centre has five separate play rooms for different age groups and three separate playgrounds for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
At Brine Street Child Care centre staff have a shared vision to empower and respect children. Staff have a commitment to repect children and their families and to be driven by a holistic approach to early childhood development.
Children's self esteem and self concept are at the forefront of daily learning oppurtunities and the centre programs have an intergral focus on how experiences impact on the child as an individual and the child with in a group care setting. Aesthetically the centre aims to capture the rich diversity of the Monash municipality and incorporate cultural awareness and equity issues into its daily practice.
We will achieve this by
- Providing innovative programs that reflect the daily questions and curiostys of the children
- Critically reflecting on documentation and observations and actively anticiapating and supporting the journey for individual and groups of children
- Connecting with families to strenghten links between the centre and the child's home and reflecting the uniquness of each child’s background with in our programs
- Ensuring staff particiapate in continious professional development oppurtunities and and are committed to striving for best practice and high quality care outcomes.

- Nutritious meals which are prepared daily on the premises by the centre cook

What you need to know
- The Centre is open from 7am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.
- Part-time and full-time care is offered.
- Each child is provided with nutritious well-balanced meals consisting of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
- Nappies are provided for your child's use during the day.
- We encourage you to visit at any time.
- You should provide a change of clothing for your child each day.
- The centre is an accredited Sunsmart centre.
- The centre is an accredited Asthma centre and registered with the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
Fees
- Details of the centre's fees are available at the centre.
- Childcare Benefit is available to eligible families.
