"Here's this issue's blunDAH and wonDAH"
#5 blunDAH
At times when my 1 ½ year old smells a little it is obvious he needs a change of nappy. I have turned to him and asked, "Have you made a deposit in the poo bank?" A question, I thought was quite innocent. But my 3½-yearold daughter, who carefully listens to all that goes on, made me realize the dangers of such a comment.
As we visited the shops one day, I popped into my bank for a moment and as always lifted my daughter up onto the service desk where she normally waits patiently for a stamp to be put on her hand by the teller. This day the teller was asked, "Is that the poo bank?"
#5 wonDAH
Toilet Training all but done and I watch my daughter independently go to the toilet – it is a marvel.
Then one day after going to the toilet she comes to me and I offer her a snack. She grimaces at me and walks away. I am puzzled and wonder what is wrong. She makes her way to the sink and says, "Dad, you have to wash your hands first!" Even more marvellous to hear this.
