Food Safety Programs
Due to the changes in the Victorian Food Laws, Food Safety Programs are mandatory in all food premises from 1 January 2003.
A Food Safety Program is a simple document that describes the steps that the food premises takes to ensure that the food the premises sells is safe.
Food premises may use a government Food Safety Program Template to prepare their program. The template may be purchased from Monash Council, Environmental Health Unit or Information Victoria at a cost of $32.00.
For further information you can view the Food Safety Victoria website at www.health.vic.gov.au/foodsafety or send e-mail to Food Safety Reform at fsv@dhs.vic.gov.au or call the Hotline on ph.1300 366 356.
