Green Waste

Green waste bin

Collected fortnightly

 Collection Days

Your Green Waste bin can collect grass clippings, branches (must be no longer than 35-40 cm and 10 cm in diameter), garden prunings and leaves.

Please place materials loosely in the bin so that it will be emptied completely.

Maximum weight is 72kg.

Please do not overfill your green waste bin and do not place plastic bags, plant pots, rubble/dirt, large logs or stumps as these items wreck the process and damage machinery. Also no food waste as this will attract flies and vermin.

The green waste that's collected is firstly chipped, then composted for 6 to 8 weeks, this kills any weed seeds and pathogens. This is then ready to use in horticulture as a mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
DO NOT PUT THESE ITEMS IN GREEN OR RECYCLING BIN
