Older Persons Reference Group - Waverley Life Activities Club
The Waverley Life Activities club was formed fifteen years ago to provide activities for people prior to retirement and those who have retired, over the age of fifty years, who reside in the City of Monash or nearby. This very friendly club now has more than three hundred and fifty members.
Regular activities conducted range from Armchair Travel, Book Groups, Cards, Computers, Craft, Patchwork, Eat Out, Scrabble, Twentieth Century Films, Film, Theatre nights and Music Listening.
Those wishing to be active can join in Ballroom Dancing, Caravanning, Cycling, Gardening, Golf, Line Dancing, Table Tennis, Tai Chi and Walking.
There are quarterly meetings with Guest Speakers and these meetings are attended by approximately two thirds of the membership. There is also an Annual Barbeque and Christmas Social.
New members and suggestions for new activities are welcome. Persons interested in joining the club are invited to attend up to three activities without obligation, prior to joining the club.
