Positive Ageing Lifestyle Program - Summer 2008-09
A Word about PALS Program
What is the PALS Program
PALS is a program that is sent out quarterly to over 1100 mailing addresseS on the Older Adults database.
Who can attend the PALS?
Any older adults (55 + years) living in the City of Monash can attend any of the PALS programs. A range of interesting & exciting activities awaits you. If you have never been involved in the program before now is the time!
Do I need to book into an Activity?
Yes, all of the activities require that you book in advance. Please read the program carefully for details.
Phone Bookings
Each month is allocated a date, time and phone number for you to call. With the one phone call you are able to book into more than one of the activities organised for that particular month. Some activities may require ballot bookings* or may have different booking instructions. Please read the program carefully.
For the majority of the smaller activities I am able to organise a second date to accommodate for people that may have missed out initially. A good example of this is the Police Academy Tour & Lunch that was held in March 2007. What was only 1 tour became 3 and over 120 people were able to attend.
Ballot Bookings
Due to the popular demand of the Day Trips all bookings are via a ballot system.
A Ballot slip for each trip will be included in the PALS booklet. You need to fill in and return the ballot by the specified date. Once you ballot is received it goes into a ballot box. Ballots are randomly selected until we have filled the trip.
Is there any cost?
Most of the activities are FREE, however trips, movies and some courses may include a small fee. Check the program for more details. Failure to provide seven working days notification or a doctors certificate (If less than seven working days Notice) for cancellation of day trips, an invoice will be issued to you at the full cost - not the subsidised cost.Updated: 25 November 2008
