Bin Placement and Maintenance
The trucks had a mechanical lifting arm, so bins need to be positioned accordingly to ensure the mechanical arm can reach and lift them.
Please place bins near the kerb or roadside with the wheels nearest/facing the house or property.
Please leave half a metre between each bin to allow space for mechanical arms to lift each bin.
Avoid placing your bins too close to trees or light plus, behind parked cars or with wheels facing the wrong way.
Maintaining Your Bins
Bins can be kept free of odours by regularly cleaning with soapy water and a broom or hard brush. The Council will carry out maintenance and repairs or replacement of your bins where bins are subjected to normal wear and tear.
Do not place any hot ashes or liquids in your bin.
Changing residence
When you change your residence, bins must be left with the property for use by the next occupant as bins are the property of council. If your bin is damaged or misplaced please contact Customer Service on 9518 3690 to arrange for your bin to be repaired or replaced.
