Monash Waste Transfer and Recycling Station

  • Open:   7 days a week - 7.30am to 4pm
  • Closed:   Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Anzac Day before noon.

Materials accepted:
Clean green waste and mixed green waste, household goods, white goods, building materials, concrete, car batteries, car lubricant oil (fees apply), recyclable items such as glass, plastics, cardboard and aluminium cans.
Car Oil - the first 30 litres of oil disposal is free, with any amount over 30 litres charged at 40 cents per litre.
This centre operates by separating recyclable products from non-recyclable products, into categories for disposal and recycling. Therefore separating such items before you proceed to the centre is advisable, as this will often allow for cheaper gate fees for the customer.

The City of Monash Waste Transfer Station is now able to accept household paint for disposal. Customers can simply place their unwanted paint tins in the bins provided under the newly constructed shelter.

This Household Paint Drop Spot is free for non-commercial quantities. A limit of 20-litres applies. Read more

Housed alongside the paint bins in the new shelter are the existing collection points for:
  • paint (no commercial amounts accepted) - free disposal
  • car oil up to 30 Litres - free disposal
  • fluorescent tubes - free disposal
  • CDL Globess - free disposal
  • gas bottles (barbecue) not LPG - free disposal
  • car batteries - free disposal
  • alkaline batteries - free disposal
  • mobile phones & mobile phone batteries - free disposal
Materials NOT accepted:
Wastes which become putrid (domestic garbage), chemicals, liquid and hazardous wastes, asbestos, car bodies, engine blocks, auto transmissions, car differential, cooking oils, chemicals, petrol and fuels. Refer to Free Household Chemical Drop-off information for disposal options.
