Sustainability Leadership

Criteria

Nominations are sought for households, schools, community groups, individuals or small businesses that have demonstrated inspirational leadership that contributes to the environmentally sustainable development and liveability of Monash.

Achievements may include practical programs or projects, information sharing or policy/strategic outcomes that benefit the wider community and initiatives leading to positive behaviour change. The assessment panel will be looking for initiatives or achievements that are inspiring or have educational outcomes.

Sustainability Initiatives

Please describe your nominee's key sustainability achievements considering topics such as energy, water, waste, food and biodiversity. (Bullet points allowed).

Examples may include:

  • Installation of solar panels and implementation of energy efficiency measures
  • Creation of a water-harvesting rain garden
  • Development of a school composting system
  • Coordination of a community food swap
  • Revegetation works to restore bushland reserves.

Sustainability Leadership

Tell us how you think your nominee has demonstrated community involvement and leadership in sustainability. (Bullet points allowed).

Examples may include:

  • Initiating a project or being proactive on an environmental issues
  • Presentations to other residents such as workshops, stalls or meetings
  • Hosting an open house to showcase a project
  • Holding a working bee
  • Applying for grants
  • Creating and distributing a newsletter.
