Local Emerging Artists Grant

The Local Emerging Artists Grants scheme supports professional development and training for eligible artists that can in turn benefit the Monash community.

Applications are open all year. Each round starts 1 July and finishes 30 June.

What type of applications will Council fund?

Monash Council recognises the value of supporting, encouraging and promoting the development of individual artists both in the pursuit of their careers and their contribution to the cultural life of Monash.

Funding under this category will be considered for:

  • Registration at conferences or seminars;
  • Attendance at workshops or training course; and
  • Participation in workshops and training programs that increase knowledge, skills and experience where the benefit is eventually returned to the Monash community.

Guidelines

Grants are provided to support eligible individual who are practising artists and/ or emerging or talented amateurs living or working in Monash.

How much funding is available?

A total cash allocation of $2,000 has been made available from the 2017/2018 Council budget. Cash funding will be capped at $300 per application per annum.

There is no close-off date for applications. However, the funding must be allocated in the 2017/18 year and once the $2,000 is allocated, the applications will close.
