Development Facilitation Service

The Development Facilitation Service has been designed as a ‘one stop shop’ for large-scale investment projects. These projects are estimated to be over $20 million in value.

Purpose

Assist developers and prospective investors to invest in major projects in Monash prior to purchasing or leasing large, vacant land or existing premises.

Process

The process includes preliminary discussion with Council officers about the proposed use and/ or development of a site. This may include reference to policy requirements, the relevant approvals needed and the likely timelines to be involved.

Should a property be subsequently acquired then the service assists with coordinated pre-application advice.

To minimise unnecessary time delays, once a planning application has been lodged it is then monitored on a regular basis, and progress advice and assistance provided to applicants.

Contact James Heitmann (Principal Planner) on 9518 3628 or jameshe@monash.vic.gov.au, or Paula Brennan (Coordinator Economic Development) on 9518 3297 or paula.brennan@monash.vic.gov.
