Glen Waverley Library forecourt pop-up

New additions are planned for Glen Waverley Library’s popular forecourt giving more options for people to relax and meet.

Works on the second stage of the Glen Waverley Pop Up will begin in October 2017. The pop-up will feature outdoor umbrellas, cafe-style outdoor furniture, and bright cushions along the granite walls.

The new look is intended to create a space for small events and activities and a place for people to take some time out in their day. The installations are removable to make space for bigger events when needed.

Earlier this year two pop-up seating areas were installed in the space as a trial and have proved popular, so Council has decided to install more for public use.

Works include:

  • Removal of the existing fixed backed seats, to be replaced with swivel seats
  • Relocation of existing bicycle racks
  • Supply and installation of one new umbrella, to match existing umbrellas
  • Supply and installation of new furniture, to match existing furniture
  • Supply of new bright outdoor cushions, which will be used on the existing granite walls.
