Robert was re-elected as Councillor for the Mulgrave Ward in 2016, having been first elected in 2012.
While Robert grew up in the USA, his family ties to Melbourne go back to 1943 when his grandfather moved his family to Melbourne from Sydney when he was appointed as a Professor at the University of Melbourne. Robert settled permanently in Melbourne in 1997.
Robert is a local resident, living in Glen Waverley, near Jells Park. As the father of two children, he wants to ensure Monash remains a standout place for families to live.
Robert has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles in business and finance working in Europe and Australia. From 2005-13, Robert worked as a Private Client Adviser for Patersons Securities in Melbourne and Mt Waverley. Prior to stockbroking, Robert managed a telecommunications services business for seven years.
Robert is a member of the Liberal Party and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), and was a Master Stockbroker with the Stockbrokers Association of Australia (MSAA). Robert holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Economics from Lehigh University in the USA. Robert is the current Chairman of the Pinewood Community Bank, a Bendigo Bank franchisee located at the Pinewood Village in the City of Monash. He is also a member of the Monash Gallery of Art Committee of Management.
