Supporting the Monash community to lead healthy, happy and fulfilled lives is a priority for Council.
Early in 2017, Council invited our community to tell us their priorities about staying well and healthy and to give us their views on ways to foster more connected, inclusive and respectful communities. The findings of this research have been published now in our report Monash 2021 and Beyond (PDF, 2MB)
We have taken notice of these priorities and views in developing one integrated draft plan, A Health and Resilient Monash: Integrated Plan 2017-2021.
The draft Plan recognises that good health is a state of physical, mental and social wellbeing.
This Plan combines all the areas within Council and the community that help define a healthy city. It highlights 30 major health and wellbeing priorities which we will strive to improve over the next four years.
It identifies all the different sectors of our community and their specific priorities, including those with disabilities, our multicultural community, concerns about community safety, gender equity, sexual orientation, age friendly, sport and recreation, libraries, neighbourhood houses, arts and culture, children, young people and families, place making and community grants.
We are keen to hear your view on the strategy and welcome your feedback until Thursday 28 September 2017.
