Huntingdale residents took part in a community forum to help develop ideas for a street art mural in their suburb.
Council has commissioned artist Niels (Nails) Oeltjen to design and create the mural with the wider community through organised workshops. Work on the mural has begun on a wall near the Huntingdale Railway Station. It is expected to be completed in July 2015.
The aim of the project is to beautify an area that has previously been a graffiti hot spot. Over the past 18 months, eye-catching murals have also been created in other graffiti-prone areas of Monash including the Thomas Street laneway in Clayton, Village Walk in Glen Waverley and on a wall near Jordanville station.
