Notice of Intention to lease Council land (Madeline Street, Glen Waverley)

MONASH CITY COUNCIL (“Council”) gives notice under Section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to enter into a lease with Optus Mobile Pty Ltd for the installation of telecommunications equipment on part of Council’s land at 5-11 Madeline Street, Glen Waverley. The location is shown on the plan below.

Principal Terms of the Lease

  • Rent: $23,000 per annum plus GST
  • Term: Ten (10) years
  • Further Term: One (1) further term of ten (10) years
  • Rent Reviews: Increased annually by 3%

Pursuant to Section 223 of the Act, any person can make a written submission to Council about the proposed lease up until Wednesday 4 May 2016.

In a written submission, a person may request to speak to their submission (or have a person speak on their behalf) at a meeting of a Committee of the Glen Waverley Ward Councillors. This meeting will be held at the Monash Civic Centre (293 Springvale Rd, Glen Waverley) on Tuesday 17 May 2016, at 7.30pm.

Council will consider all submissions in accordance with Section 223 of the Act before deciding whether to proceed with the lease.
