Proposal to grant a lease to Vodafone Network

Submissions sought until 03 May 2017

Council is seeking community feedback on a proposal to grant a lease to Vodafone Network Pty Ltd to construct a 7.5m2 equipment shelter under a high voltage tower, including the installation of underground cable, on part of Council’s land at 418-422 Stephensons Rd, Mount Waverley (as shown on the plan below).

Principal terms of the Lease:

  • Rent: $7,200 per annum plus GST
  • Rent Reviews: Increased at the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on each anniversary of the commencement date
  • Term: Ten (10) years with one (1) further term of ten (10) years
  • Permitted Use: Low impact telecommunications facility

Members of the community are welcome to make a submission to Council about this proposal. Submissions must be received by Wednesday 3 May 2017.

People who make written submissions may request to speak to their submission (or have a person speak on their behalf) at a meeting of a Committee of Ward Councillors. This meeting will be held at the Monash Civic Centre (293 Springvale Rd, Glen Waverley) on Tuesday 16 May, from 7.30pm.
