Proposed Development Plan for 1 Beryl Avenue, Oakleigh South (former Oakleigh South Primary School)

Community feedback sought by 24 July 2019


Council is seeking community feedback on the proposed Development Plan for a medium density townhouse development comprising of 89 dwellings ranging in height from 2-3 storeys at 1 Beryl Avenue (52 Golf Road) Oakleigh South, which is the former Oakleigh South Primary School site.

Feedback is formally sought by Wednesday 24 July 2019. However Council will continue to accept submissions on this proposal up until it makes a decision. 

The applicant, Golf Road Project Development Pty Ltd, proposes a Development Plan that includes:

  • 16 two bedroom townhouses
  • 18 three bedroom townhouses
  • 55 four bedroom townhouses
  • Retention of 7 trees
  • Removal of 48 trees
  • Central communal open space area located in the centre of the site where two existing mature trees will be retained
  • Vehicle access via Golf Road
  • Predominantly double storey dwellings with some three storey dwellings located in the middle of the site and along the north-eastern boundary (adjacent the golf club).

Community information sessions

As part of the consultation process two public information ‘drop in’ sessions will be held on:

  • Session 1
  • WHEN:  Thursday 4 July 2019
  • WHERE: Monash Seminar & Training Centre (1A Atherton Road, Oakleigh)
  • TIME: 6.30pm – 8pm
  • Session 2
  • WHEN:  Tuesday 16 July 2019
  • WHERE: Monash Seminar & Training Centre (1A Atherton Road, Oakleigh)
  • TIME: 9.30am – 11am

These will be informal ‘drop in’ sessions to provide additional information about the proposal. No formal presentation will take place at the information session. 

Plans and application documents will be displayed at the information session and Council officers will be in attendance to answer any questions about the proposal and planning process. 

How to provide feedback

Persons wishing to lodge an objection to the new application will need to lodge a separate objection to the current application TP440.

Any person who may be affected by the proposal may lodge an objection or provide feedback to Council. Objections must be made in writing.

Objections should detail any concerns you have regarding the proposal, reasons for the objection, how you would be affected by the proposal and include your name, postal address and reference to TP440.

Please provide feedback/objection in writing to Council by Wednesday 24 July 2019.
