Huntingtower School is seeking ideas for a mural on a prominent wall in Stephensons Road, Mount Waverley.
Year 9 visual arts students (including l-r Sabrina, Kylie, Stephanie and Paris) are going to create the street art on the eastern wall of the Ritchie’s IGA supermarket, which is a regular target for graffiti tagging.
Street art helps prevent graffiti as people who commit graffiti tend to respect street art and avoid tagging it. The aim is for the street art to reflect the local community, with proposed themes including: indigenous flora and fauna, and the cultural diversity of the area.
