Upgrade to Electra Reserve (Ashwood) playspace

Feedback sought by 28 February 2019

Last year, Council sought ideas and feedback from the local community for a new playspace in Electra Reserve, Ashwood.

The design concept we have put together incorporates many of the community's ideas from preliminary consultation.

Council sought feedback on the design concept until Thursday 28 February 2019.

Thank you to those who provide feedback – it will help ensure that we deliver a project that is valued by the local community.

Draft concept plan for Electra Reserve playspace (pdf, 3MB)

The proposed key play elements are:

  • Multi-play unit with senior and junior slides
  • Climbing fitness equipment
  • Flying fox
  • Basketball key
  • Swing set with basket swing and expression swing
  • Nature play.

Other elements of the project will include:

  • Picnic table
  • Bench seating
  • Planting more trees and garden beds
  • Retaining of valuable shade trees (Golden Elm, Chinese Elm Pin Oak).

Please note: an inspection by our arborist has found that a gumtree, located just to the north of the croquet field, is dying and requires removal. We will be replacing this tree with the planting of more trees and garden beds throughout the reserve.
