The Evelyn Street Reserve upgrade is complete and the playspace is now open for fun and adventure.
The upgrade was eagerly anticipated by locals who were keen to see the old and tired playspace renewed with exciting and relevant play pieces. New items include senior and junior ‘ant structures’, educational play panels, nature play, swing set with expression and basket swings, play tables and park furniture
Thank you to local residents who provided ideas and feedback to help Council create this exciting playspace in Clayton.
Key play elements include:
- Senior 'ant' adventure play unit
- Junior 'ant' adventure play unit
- Rocker and play car
- Play table and play panels
- Swing set with basket swing and expression swing
- Nature play.
Other elements of the project will include:
- Picnic table
- Bench seating
- Planting more trees and garden beds.

Background
In 2018, Council sought ideas and feedback from the local community for an upgraded playspace in the reserve at Evelyn Street, Clayton. We incorporated some of the community’s ideas into an exciting draft concept plan which we sought feedback on until Thursday 28 February 2019.
