Murumba Drive Reserve playspace concept plan

A new playspace has opened at Murumba Drive Reserve, Oakleigh South. 

Here is the final concept plan for the playspace:

To come up with the concept plan, Council asked for the community's ideas. These suggestions were included in the final design.

The key play elements to be installed are:

  • Double swing set
  • Play fort with junior slide
  • Climbing cube
  • Basket swing for children of all abilities and group play
  • Rock scramble
  • Log balance steppers
  • Carved timber log. 

The existing ball court will be retained. Other elements of the project will include:

  • Installing a connective concrete pathway
  • Planting more trees and other vegetation
  • Installing a picnic table and bench seating
  • Re-installation of the existing monkey bars in a new location.

Background

In 2016, Council sought ideas and feedback from the community for a new playspace in Murumba Drive, Oakleigh South.

Some of the community ideas were incorporated into a draft concept plan. Local residents were invited to provide feedback by 30 November 2016.
