Delegations of Authority

Monash Council strives to be open and transparent about its actions and decisions, and is a leader among Victoria’s councils in transparency, disclosure and good governance practices.

Providing a list of delegations is an example of our commitment to transparency.

At a Special Meeting of Council on Friday 27 March Council resolved, given the Coronavirus pandemic,  to revoke the existing delegations to the Chief Executive Officer and to provide new delegations so that, in the circumstance that Council is unable to form a quorum (a  sufficient number of Councillors to make decisions), the Chief Executive Officer can act.

Council has delegated to the Chief Executive Officer all of its powers, functions and duties that it is legally able to delegate pursuant to the Local Government Act 1989.
