Let's All Play

Young people from newly arrived migrant and refugee communities are encouraged to participate in sport within Monash in a new program called 'Let's All Play'.

The program assists young people to participate in sport by providing grant money which funds membership fees, uniforms, equipment and transport costs.

The program involves 16 local clubs from a range of sports including basketball, athletics, soccer, cricket, softball, hockey, netball and Australian Rules football.

As part of the program, the Centre for Multicultural Youth facilitated leadership training for 20 young people from Wellington Secondary College and South Oakleigh Secondary College. There are a total of 26 grant recipients for the 2012 Winter Sports season.

The partner project is funded by Monash Council, Sports Without borders and the Pinewood Community Bendigo Bank./
