Monash Council has endorsed the launch of the 2018/19 round of Community Grants worth $2.5 million in cash and in-kind funding.
The Monash Community Grants Program provides funding to local organisations to deliver community-based services, programs, projects and events that promote community wellbeing and social inclusion in the City of Monash.
Mayor Rebecca Paterson said the program helped Council to work collaboratively with local agencies and service providers to respond to the needs of the Monash community.
"The Monash Community Grants Program has significant benefits and outcomes for our local community in Monash," Cr Paterson said.
"These grants give support to groups and services to provide activities and programs for the diverse needs of our Monash community, from children and families to older people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse communities."
Grants funding is available through six categories:
- Community strengthening
- Community partnerships (specialist services and Neighbourhood Houses)
- Positive ageing
- Arts and cultural projects
- Community events
- Major festivals.
"We are proud to be able to offer this vital support to our community whether it is by financial assistance or the use of one of our halls."
Submissions for this funding round open on Monday, 30 October and close Friday, 8 December 2017.
