Food, music, colour and culture will be on show at the 2019 Clayton Festival and Hawkers Night Market.
The FREE festival will be held on Sunday, 24 February at Clayton Community Centre and Cooke Street.
This highly anticipated annual event will feature live entertainment across four stages, market stalls and food truck park, roving performers, community activities and displays.
Mayor Shane McCluskey said Clayton Festival showcased the vibrancy of the Monash community.
“The Clayton Festival is a great opportunity to enjoy other cultures and see the wonderful diversity of the Monash community,” Cr McCluskey said.
“There’s strength in our diversity and we are so fortunate to have around 106 countries represented in our City of Monash population.”
The Bank of Melbourne Main Stage located in the Clayton Community Centre car park, will feature back to back performances from 12pm–5pm.
You can also visit the Community Stage to support local organisations showcasing their many singing, dancing and musical talents.
Entertainment can also be found in the Youth Zone and at the Hawkers Night Market.
From 5pm the Cooke Street Food Truck Park will transform into the Hawkers Night Market to become an event in its own right, keeping the festivities rolling into the night.
A line-up of world music from performers including LAMA, Amaru Tribe and Orquesta La 45' will provide a lively soundtrack for families and friends to enjoy with dinner and a drink in the pop-up bar.
The Clayton Aquatic and Health Club is offering FREE entry to the pool throughout the festival.
You can also visit the Clayton Library to participate in their Sphero Robot Obstacle Course or test your improvisation skills playing theatre sports in the Clayton Theatrette, presented by Encore Theatre.
