The Pinewood Winter Festival has been postponed until further notice. We will keep the community updated on a new date.

Christmas will come a little earlier this year with a festival of winter fun at the Pinewood Shopping Centre this month.

Council is proud to announce the Pinewood Winter Festival – Christmas Eve in July, set for Saturday 24 July at the Pinewood Shopping Centre in Mount Waverley.

The project has been funded by a grant from the State Government Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, under the Local Councils Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Grant Program.

Activities will include live music; yoga sessions for kids with Sprouts Yoga; colouring-in workshops with Kitiya Palaskas; a disco area providing DJ lessons for kids; Christmas hat making; Bangin Hangins installation of colourful streamers by artist Sarah Borg; Insta Wham photo wall and a visit from Santa, all delivered through Wham Bam.

The free community activation program is aimed at Monash families with children aged 3-12, attracting potential shoppers from surrounding neighbourhoods and municipalities who have not yet discovered Pinewood or regulars who need a reminder to return to the centre for shopping and dining.

Monash Mayor Brian Little said the event would bring the community to the Pinewood Shopping Centre, providing an opportunity for community connection and fun.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to enjoy a range of free activities with their families and friends. And by having a bit of winter fun and an early Christmas Eve celebration we can support local hospitality businesses after what has been a challenging year,” Cr Little said.

“We’re proud to work with our traders and the State Government to activate our shopping centres and bring more people into Monash as we recover from COVID-19.”

The Pinewood Winter Festival – Christmas Eve in July will take place on Saturday 24 July, 11am-3pm.

Because of COVID safety crowd number restrictions, bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment. Book at
