Have you checked to see if your car is fitted with a dangerous Takata airbag?
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is urging you to check if your car is affected. If it is, you need to act now and book in a free replacement.
In Australia, one in every four cars were fitted with these airbags that, if deployed, can shoot out and hit car occupants with sharp metal fragments, potentially seriously injuring or killing them. So far there has been 26 reported deaths and more than 300 injuries worldwide.
A number of suburbs in Melbourne’s western / north western and south eastern suburbs have low replacement rates compared to the national average, including Dandenong, Springvale and Clayton.
Act now – follow the steps below to check if your car is affected. If it is, don’t delay and book in for a free replacement to protect your loved ones and your community.
