Questions and Responses
Is council happy with how works are going?
Overall, the Council is satisfied with the development at The Glen. There have been some concerns from residents about noise, traffic and pedestrian access at times during construction but Council meets fortnightly with the developer and the construction company and these issues are raised. We also regularly visit the site and both these visits and the meetings have helped make the process a bit smoother and mitigated issues.
We have heard reports that dust can be an issue in the area, blowing off the site and into the surrounds - is this something that the developer is responsible for and what are the expectations?
Between June and October last year Council received 5 complaints about dust associated with the building works at The Glen. All but one were associated with dust inside the shopping complex and the other related to dust in the car park. In response to those concerns Council officers have worked with the centre operator about processes and works that may be undertaken to reduce the impact of dust, such as watering down the site.
Have there been any reports on what impact the work on The Glen is disrupting neighbouring businesses?
