The Monash Gallery of Art will reopen from Thursday 1 June with reduced opening day and hours and social distancing and safe hygiene measures in place.
MGA hours will be from Thursdays to Sundays from 11am until 4pm with free ticketed timed entry for 20 people every hour. These measures adhere to the guidelines set by the State Government for the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Modifications have been made to the operation of the gallery to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including the installation of Perpex screens at the front counter, additional cleaning, hand sanitisation stations are in place and additional signage to assist visitors to understand the changes.
The MGA Café will be open but only to provide takeaway service.
Virtual education tours continue online with physical tours to resume from 1 August.
To manage the flow of people and visitation levels we have put in place a timed ticketing process through YouCanBookMe.
Tickets are free, bookings are limited to 20 people each session, with timed entry spaced every one hour. This will enable people when they book online to enter their name and contact number which is required under the COVID-19 restrictions. For any walk-ins, especially cafe patrons, we will review numbers in the space and permit entry if possible. Visitors will need to sign in at the front desk via an iPad (wiped down after use).
