More preliminary geotechnical works will start next week in Clayton and Glen Waverley for the early planning and design of the Suburban Rail Loop.
The Suburban Rail Loop Authority’s geotechnical program involves drilling in areas near the proposed alignment for the south east section of Suburban Rail Loop to gain initial data and information about local ground conditions.
These works will occur on Cobain Street, Clayton (near Monash University) and Montclair Avenue Reserve, Glen Waverley.
The works in Cobain Street will require temporary occupation of up to eight car parking spaces for drilling works and support vehicles. Pedestrian, road and driveway access will be maintained at all times and traffic controllers and signage will be in place to guide people around the work site. There will be periods of medium level noise from the digging.
The works in Montclair Avenue Reserve will require temporary occupation of a section of grassed area for drilling works and support vehicles. This area will be reinstated at the completion of works.
The works are from 7am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and 7am to 1pm (Saturdays) and will take approximately two weeks (weather and ground works permitting).
