Obtaining permits and approvals is critical when you are in a business, whether you are starting your business, expanding or changing your business. Business owners are encouraged to speak to Council to ensure they comply with the regulations.

Public Health Registration Renewal Payments

These payments are for food premises, hairdressers, beauty salons, prescribed accommodation, skin penetration and tattooists.

You can pay online or by visiting either of the following in person:

  • Monash Civic Centre
    293 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley VIC 3150
    8.15am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (closed public holidays)
  • Oakleigh Service Centre
    3 Atherton Road, Oakleigh VIC 3166
    8.45am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (closed public holidays)

Public Health Registration Fees

Businesses require assessment by an Environmental Health Officer prior to Council granting registration. For further information: call Monash Council on 9518 3555.

Registrations fees may differ from business to business, based on the following: 

  • There are different risk classifications and registration requirements in the area of Food Safety. Each case is assessed against the activities being undertaken by the food business. Each risk classification has a different fee assigned to it. 
  • The number of employees within a food business may impact the fee
  • When a business first registers with Council, a fee is applied at a pro-rata rate depending on the quarter in which an application is made
  • A 'New Premises Approval Fee' will apply in most cases upon initial business registration 
  • There are different fees and separate registration requirements for particular types premises, such as hairdressers, beauty salons and skin penetration premises.
