Council has closed some services and facilities in line with the latest government advice regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic

Playgrounds closure

Open space, parks and reserves are open and can be used in accordance with Section 9 Leaving Premises for Exercise.

Directions from the Deputy Chief Health Officer:

Playgrounds, outdoor recreation facilities (such as fitness stations, skate parks, bouldering walls and similar) and associate amenities (BBQs, water fountains) are closed.

People are required by law to comply with the Directions.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has prepared comprehensive FAQ’s about the practical application of the Stay at Home Direction: Frequently Asked Questions - Stay at Home Direction.

Playspaces, skate parks, community basketball courts, outdoor fitness equipment

All playgrounds, skate parks, fitness stations, table tennis tables, bouldering walls, BBQs and drinking fountains in Monash are now closed as of 30 March in line with advice from the Federal Government to slow the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19.

Please do not use this equipment.

Monash Youth Services

The Monash Youth Services (MYS) office is now closed to the public following recent advice from the State and Federal governments regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

If you are a participant in one of our programs you will be contacted directly by the program facilitators.

If you have an appointment with us, you will be contacted by a Youth Worker or another staff member.

Our Mental Health First Aid workshops have been postponed until further notice. If you are, or have booked in to be, a participant in the workshops you will be contacted directly with further information.

All Monash Youth Services staff members are available to speak to and can be contacted directly on their mobile phones or via email.

All sports pavilions in Monash will be closed to the public from Friday, 27 March. This means pavilions can’t be used for meetings, gatherings or any other use during this closure and clubs have been asked to return keys and access cards to the Civic Centre drop box.
