We are continuing a number of critical services including bin collection and our customer service. We are also providing essential services to care for the elderly and vulnerable in our community.
Aged care and Meals on Wheels
We are prioritising services to our most vulnerable residents including our aged care and Meals on Wheels clients. These services are continuing following strict hygiene and social distancing measures.
Our service centres at the Monash Civic Centre (293 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley) and the Oakleigh Service Centre (3 Atherton Road, Oakleigh) remain open but we have introduced changes to the times we are open and to meet social distancing requirements.
We have changed the hours of operation for our Customer Service Counters.
From Tuesday 31 March until further notice our hours are from:
10am until 4pm.
When you visit our centres you will be greeted by a Concierge who will assist with your request. Please stay behind the barriers that are in place. We have limited each transaction with staff to 15 minutes maximum so be ready with your documents and information.
Where possible we encourage you to seek our assistance by phone, email, video conference and online at:
Phone: 9518 3555
Online: www.monash.vic.gov.au (webchat)
Waste Transfer Station operating hours
From 25 March the Monash Waste Transfer Station, 380 Ferntree Gully Road Notting Hill, operates with adjusted hours.
The Transfer Station will now be open from 7.30am to 3pm, 7 days.
Please observe social distancing guidelines when around staff and other customers. Where possible, we strongly encourage the use of contactless card transactions. These measures are to limit the chance of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) infection.
Kerbside bin collection
There are also some changes to our kerbside collection (waste, recycling and green waste bins) service. In order for our contractor Solo Resource Recovery to maintain adequate social distancing for employees, they have commenced staggered operating times. This means the collection period will take place over a longer period of the day, with some bins being collected earlier or later than usual.
Place your bins out the night before your collection and make sure the bin is not overfilled and the lid is closed.
For more information phone the Waste Transfer Station on 9518 3767 or our Customer Service Team on 9518 3555.
Whilst our Council meetings will continue to be public meetings, the restrictions regarding indoor areas and social distancing will have an impact on the number of people allowed to attend. We would encourage people to consider whether they need to attend in person and instead to watch via our livestreaming service at webcast.monash.vic.gov.au
Public questions can be sent to Council by 2pm on the day of the meeting. The Mayor will act as the representative in reading out questions and providing a response over the livestream. A written response will also be provided.

From 23 March all community immunisation sessions need to be booked online at Trybooking - Monash Immunisation Sessions.
We are also asking that just 1 adult accompanies their child/children to the immunisation session. Please do not bring extended family/carers to these sessions.
For any questions please contact our immunisation team on 9518 3534 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or the Maternal Child Health central booking number on 9518 3662.
We will continue to provide frequent updates about the coronavirus and our response to it. We encourage our community to check our website, follow our Facebook page and subscribe to Monash eNews to keep in touch with us.
