The third step in the easing of COVID-19 restrictions will see some changes to facilities we have open to the public.

The Civic Centre (293 Springvale Road Glen Waverley) and the Oakleigh Service Centre (3 Atherton Road) remain closed to the public in line with the latest government advice regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. Our teams continue to provide assistance online through webchat, by email and by phone.

However, the Waste Transfer Station (380 Ferntree Gully Road Notting Hill) will reopen to the general public from Wednesday 28 October.

The new hours of operation for the Waste Transfer Station are:

Wednesday, 28 October 2020, 7:30am – midday

From Thursday, 29 October 2020 - 7:30am – 3pm, Monday – Sunday.

The WTS will now also be accepting tyres.

Visitors to the Waste Transfer Station will need to continue to observe COVIDSafe requirements.

All visitors must wear a mask and must observe the 1.5m physical distancing.

We are anticipating high demand at this facility as we reopen and there may be delays. Please be patient and respectful with staff and other visitors and follow all requirements for your own safety and the safety of others. 

If you can hold off visiting immediately until demand has settled, please consider doing so.



What's Open


Waste Transfer Station 

The Monash Waste Transfer Station, 380 Ferntree Gully Road Notting Hill reopens to the public on Wednesday 28 October. The hours of operation are Wednesday, 28 October, 7:30am – midday and from Thursday, 29 October - 7:30am – 3pm, Monday – Sunday.

The WTS will now also be accepting tyres.

All visitors must wear a face covering when visiting this facility. Please remain in your vehicle and if you need to leave the vehicle, you must observe a 1.5 metre distance from everyone.

We strongly encourage the use of contactless card transactions. 

Do NOT visit if

  • you have symptoms of respiratory disease (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath)
  • have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to your visit.

There are a number of things you must do:

- Stay behind the barriers that are in place.

- Observe the 1.5 metre distancing at all time

Kerbside bin collection and Hard Waste Collection

There are also some changes to our kerbside collection (waste, recycling and green waste bins) service. In order for our contractor Solo Resource Recovery to maintain adequate social distancing for employees, they have commenced staggered operating times. This means the collection period will take place over a longer period of the day, with some bins being collected earlier or later than usual.

Place your bins out the night before your collection and make sure the bin is not overfilled and the lid is closed.

The at-call Hard Waste Collection will also continue.

Council meetings

You can still keep up with what's happening at Council meetings by watching via our livestreaming service at webcast.monash.vic.gov.au

Public questions can be sent to Council by 2pm on the day of the meeting. The Mayor will act as the representative in reading out questions and providing a response over the livestream. A written response will also be provided.

Under current restrictions you cannot attend Council meetings in person.

We will continue providing important immunisation services. All community immunisation sessions  need to be booked online at Trybooking - Monash Immunisation Sessions.

We are also asking that just 1 adult accompanies their child/children to the immunisation session. Please do not bring extended family/carers to these sessions.

Customer Service Centres

Our service centres at the Monash Civic Centre (293 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley) and the Oakleigh Service Centre (3 Atherton Road, Oakleigh) remain closed until further notice.

We are still available to assist you with any enquiries via phone, email and webchat.
