What's Open

Waste Transfer Station

Under Stage 4 restrictions, the Monash Waste Transfer Station, 380 Ferntree Gully Road Notting Hill is open only to Commercial operators from 11.59pm on 5 August until further notice. The hours of operation have also changed with the facility open from 7.30am til 12 noon Monday to Saturday. The WTS will be closed on Sunday.

Members of the Public are not permitted to visit this facility during Stage 4 restrictions.

Commercial operators must wear a face covering when visiting this facility. Please remain in your vehicle and if you need to leave the vehicle, you must observe a 1.5 metre distance from everyone.

We strongly encourage the use of contactless card transactions.

Do NOT visit if

  • you have symptoms of respiratory disease (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath)
  • have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to your visit.

There are a number of things you must do:

- Stay behind the barriers that are in place.

- Observe the 1.5 metre distancing at all time

Kerbside bin collection and Hard Waste Collection

There are also some changes to our kerbside collection (waste, recycling and green waste bins) service. In order for our contractor Solo Resource Recovery to maintain adequate social distancing for employees, they have commenced staggered operating times. This means the collection period will take place over a longer period of the day, with some bins being collected earlier or later than usual.

Place your bins out the night before your collection and make sure the bin is not overfilled and the lid is closed.

The Hard Waste Collection is currently underway in Monash, until the end of August. This service will continue.

The at-call Hard Waste Collection will also continue.
