Monash Gallery of Art (MGA)

Promoting excellence, access, and education within the visual arts, the Monash Gallery of Art is one of Australia’s leading public galleries.

The MGA is a key cultural facility and a popular destination for art and photography enthusiasts.

At its 28 April 2020 meeting, Council resolved to appoint a Community Asset Committee, under the Local Government Act 2020, to manage the Monash Gallery of Art.

Boasting a nationally significant collection of Australian photography, the Gallery's permanent collection comprises over 2,000 works illustrating the development and evolution of the photographic medium in Australia.

MGA mounts around 20 exhibitions a year and regularly holds artist's talks, guided tours for schools and community groups, concerts and special events.

A fun-filled and interactive range of children's activities are also available.
