Important Update – Winter Concerts 2021 Cancelled

Due to the ongoing impacts and uncertainty of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2021 Winter Concert Series.

When the events were planned, venues were open and we hoped it would be possible to give the community access to these much loved free concerts.

However, the impact of COVID-19 on public events continues to be felt. Despite our best efforts and the tireless support of our bands and venue partners in rescheduling the events multiple times, we have now reached a point where, in the interests of safety, we have decided to cancel.

Council is committed to supporting the performers and creative industry partners that make our cultural events possible and we look forward to having Cosmic Cats, Sol Nation and Cookin’ on 3 Burners join us at a future program.

Kee'ahn - NAIDOC Week

Kee'ahn - Winter Concerts 2021
  •
  • Wednesday 7 July, 7pm-9pm
  • Mount Waverley Community Centre
  • 47 Miller Crescent

Kee'ahn is a proud Kuku Yalanji, Jirrbal, Zenadh Kes song woman, effortlessly blending the sounds of soul, R&B and pop throughout her music, in lush melodies and words that are reminiscent of heartbreak and healing.

Her vocals and hopeful lyrics champion the idea that finding strength in our struggles encourages us to reflect, reinvent and rejoice in our own individual healing journeys.

With a name coming from the Wik people, meaning to dance, to sing, to play - Kee'ahn aims to honour her name and Ancestors through her soulful music.

This special NAIDOC Week concert will include a Welcome to Country. Doors will open from 6.30pm for an opportunity to visit a community exhibition in The Track Gallery.

Sol Nation is the product of Melbourne’s communal musical scene and has created one of the most exciting and colourful live shows in Australia.

A must-see musical experience!

Cookin' On 3 Burners

Cookin' On 3 Burners - Winter Concerts 2021

This event has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

  • The Count's (formerly the Jazz Club)
  • Monash University Clayton Campus, 48 Exhibition Walk

Cookin' On 3 Burners is Australia's hardest hitting Hammond Organ Trio - joining the dots between Deep Funk, Raw Soul, Organ Jazz & Boogaloo.

Listening to Cookin' On 3 Burners is like entering a time portal that stretches between the year you were born and the middle of next week.

There are clues to a spiritual home that's situated in the back streets of 1966, but also a reinvented soul stew that's very much of the 21st Century.
