Join us for all the fun and excitement of the Clayton Festival at the Clayton Community Centre and Cooke Street car park.

The Clayton Festival is a City of Monash FREE community celebration featuring live entertainment across multiple stages, market stalls, a food truck alley, roving performers, community activities and displays.

The festival is a reflection of the vibrant and diverse community living in Monash and we welcome everyone to join us for a fun-filled day!

Important Information: Free entry, family friendly and drug free event. Please leave your dog at home, however guide dogs and companion dogs are welcome.

Getting to the Clayton Festival

Find out how to get to and from Clayton Festival with easy transportation options and tips. 

  • Parking is limited - Free parking is available in surrounding streets, including Clayton Road, Dunstan Street, Carinish Road, Haughton Road and Thomas Street.
    Where possible please walk, ride or take public transport to the event.
    If driving, please observe parking restrictions as usual restrictions in residential areas apply
  • Public Transport
    Train: Clayton Station is closest.
    Buses: Route 631, 703, 733 and 824 will get your to / from Clayton Festival

  • Bike Parking Bays - are located on corner of Cooke Street and Centre Road and outside the Clayton Library (please BYO bike lock).
  • Accessible Parking - The accessible car park is located in Cooke St Coles Carpark. 

Accessibility

Clayton Festival is able to provide a great event day for all, by providing the following accessibility features:

  • Information Tent is available for all event accessibility enquiries and resources, located at the main entrance to Clayton Community Centre carpark. It is also the event information hub for all patrons at the event, with key programming and other helpful information.
  • Accessible Information:
    Clayton Festival caters for all patrons by providing accessible toilets and parking. There is accessible bathrooms in Clayton Community Centre and there is an additional Parenting Pod located in Clayton Community Centre carpark.
    If you need to recharge a motorised wheelchair power is available in the sensory courtyard.
    Accessible parking is available in the Cooke Street Carpark.
  • Chill Out Zone is available for those seeking respite from the busy crowds. This is located at the Clayton Community Centre courtyard. There will also be a quiet art therapy craft activity happening in this space.

Program Highlights

The Clayton Festival 2020 Program is jam packed and includes free activities for the whole family:

  • Food Truck Alley: indulge in festival food truck favourites, socialise in the fully licensed pop-up bar presented by Liquid Infusion, all while enjoying the talented performers from The House of Voice on the Street Stage.
    Check out our list of delicious food and drink vendors below.
  • Kids Area: your one stop shop to entertain the littles! Free jumping castle, chair-o-plane, interactive games, monster bubbles and explore the Enchanted Forest with the True Fairies.
  • Market Stalls: Trinkets, homemade goods and knick knacks.
  • Community Stalls: meet and connect with a wide range of Clayton and surrounding community groups and clubs with heaps of fun activities and a chance to get to know your fellow community members.
  • Get creative: Enjoy the arts play on offer in the community sites, Clayton-Clarinda Art Gelli printing workshop and gratitude dolls making in the chill out zone.
  • Main Stage: will present a colourful program of a range of local multicultural performances, bands, energetic dance troupes and more.
  • Clayton Library: is hosting a range of free activities including rocket ship photo booth, jigsaw making art project, treasure hunt and more.
  • Enviro Tent: Joining the Clayton Festival for the first year ever, presenting a series of educational and creative workshops on sustainability topics and current trends.
  • Youth Area: presented by Monash Youth Services featuring free henna arts, interactive games and crafts, live stage acts from young people in Monash, a caravan photo booth and spoil yourself with the world’s cutest fairy floss by Som Som Candy.

Enjoy a colourful program featuring a range of local multicultural performances, bands, energetic dance troupes and musical theatre on the Main Stage.

Sensory Courtyard

Come and explore five senses in the Courtyard inside Clayton Community Centre. Listen to beautiful music from flutists, flamenco guitarists, a Russian tongue drum and the flowing water of the fountain. Smell the jasmine, taste the teas and coffee of the world from Indonesia, Ethiopia, Mexico and India, try the Clayton-Clarinda Art Gelli Workshops, take a break in the chill out zone or get involved in an art therapy activity with one of Monash's favourite artists, Emma Finch.
