SSCAFF 2018 Satrangi 7 Colors Arts & Film Festival

SSCAFF 2018 is the culmination of SKGA Inc. and its continuing efforts to promote cultural diversity through the platform of creative arts, performing arts and filmmaking in Australia.

The festival is a melting pot of cultures, with people and groups hailing from regions all over the globe coming together to take part in the program. It is a ‘One Week Long Festival’ from Saturday 23rd June till Friday 29th June 2018, devoted to spreading intercultural awareness and community harmony with FREE ENTRY-NO PARTICPATION FEES for Films and performances throughout or mentioned otherwise.

On its CLOSING DAY from 5.30 PM till 9.00 PM on Friday, 29th June 2018, evening will kick start with Cultural Dancing, followed with One Film Talk/Panel Discussion, Fashion Show and Screening with series of short films created by local aspiring filmmakers will be on full display with QA for an audience till 9 PM.

They will be invited to engage in a Q&A about their films, while recognising their cast & crew, in the effort to motivate them to promote the social, cultural and economic benefits of cultural diversity through their film and arts projects.

Along with Film Screenings - Fashion Show & Dancing is also included, as local filmmakers and members in the Australian film community engage in discourse surrounding multiculturalism, diversity and representation in the Australian film industry.

Program Schedule (Closing Day):

5 PM to 5.45 PM - Networking

5.45 PM to 6 PM - Welcoming the Guests with Speeches, Kuchipudi & Bollywood Dance

6 PM to 7.15 PM - Representation of the Marginalised in Australian Cinema (Panel Discussion)

7.15 PM to 9.00 PM - Fashion Show (3 minutes), Group Photos and continued with Film Screenings (Upto 10 minutes each with QA sessions)

9 PM – Vote of thanks and Festival Ends

On its OPENING DAY from 12 PM till 5 PM on Saturday 23rd June, in Clayton Community Centre, festival kick start with Film Screenings, Fashion Show and Cross-cultural extravaganza presenting non-stop entertainment with music and dance items from India, Australia, Africa, Southeast Asia, Greece, China and many more regions and countries. This all-inclusive platform aims to showcase the power of multiculturalism in Australia, through the bright and colourful dances, and the melodic music being sung in various languages.

The Festival this year is supported by Victorian Multicultural Commission, City of Monash, City of Kingston, City of Whitehorse, City of Greater Dandenong, Deakin University Burwood, Clayton Clarinda Leadership Group, Cine Space Incorporated, Beyond India Media & Newspaper and many other schools, organizations, associations and individuals.

Throughout the week, the festival will be celebrating, supporting, volunteering & collaborating with Sudarashka Dance Ensemble (Ticket $15) from 2 PM to 5 PM on 24th June @ Clayton Community Centre, SIMDA Multicultural Group 3 PM to 5 PM on 25th June @ Springvale Road Glen Waverley, Fitness First Australia 3 to 5 PM on 26th June @ Epping 3076, Jalwa Dance Company 7 PM to 9 PM on 27th June and Harmony International from 7 to 9 PM on 28th June @ Shalimar Cafe, City of Dandenong 3175. SSCAFF 2018 is dedicated to three themes in particular;

One theme is to pay Tribute to our patron, Indian Cinema Legend, the Late Yash Raj Chopra, to commemorate his love for Australia and its community. SSCAFF 2018 will present local leaders in diversity and community with the Yash Chopra SSCAFF Award, to recognize those who have served the Australian multicultural community by promoting their cultural heritage and others to celebrate Sant Kabirdas Jayanti and Eid Mubarak.

SKGA Inc. (Sangam Kala Group Australia Inc.), headed by Festival Director Noel Nawal Moudgil, is organising this festival with the objective to promote Cultural Diversity, Community Harmony and Intercultural Awareness. This festival also aims at strengthening Music, Film & Cultural ties of Victorian/Australian Film, Music & Arts industries with India and globally by recognizing the local talent and productions at this community platform.
