World renowned pianist Stephen Hough, is coming to Melbourne this June, as part of his Australian tour, for a spectacular one-night-only concert taking place at Monash University’s Alexander Theatre.
Throughout his extraordinary life, Hough’s contribution to classical music and the arts has been profound. He has received numerous accolades for his work including several Grammy nominations and eight Gramophone Magazine Awards.
Hough was also made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2014 for his services to music, and interestingly, was named as one of the “20 living polymaths” by The Economist.
The generous program prepared by Hough for the June 24 performance includes favourites such as Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Beethoven’s Appassionata and Schumann’s C major Fantasie, as well as insights into the unexpected connections between German Romantic and French Impressionist repertoire.
