Winter Concerts 2020

Monash Winter Concerts is coming at you re-imagined, re-designed and re-launched.

Presented with a digital twist and a dance party line up, you can expect to hear some of Melbourne's world famous music scene up close and personal, from your living room!

  • Friday 17 July - Horns of Leroy

  • Watch our first Winter Concert with Horns of Leroy and Thando below!

Horns of Leroy are a group of musicians who first met at Monash University and formed the band after a trip to New Orleans, a city which has clearly shaped the band's direction. Featuring Thando on guest vocals effortlessly bellowing pitch perfect notes, expect to hear some pop classics reworked by a funky 7-piece brass band that will guarantee to get you dancing!

Friday 24 July - Mighty Duke & The Lords

Watch our second Winter Concert with Mighty Duke & The Lords below!

After their performance at Live at Warrawee was cancelled, we are delighted to have Mighty Duke & The Lords finally perform for us and they will not disappoint! Made up of ARIA award winning musicians, they are avatars of modern day ‘trop-pop’, a signature style that morphed from a motley Australian interpretation of 1950s Trinidadian Calypso: peppery brew of afrobeat, cumbia, Miami disco, and stringband beach jams, with juice in the rudder, and hot wind in the sail. The party, and the Passiona, is strong here.

Friday 31 July - Alejandro Aguanta

Watch our final Winter Concert with Alejandro Aguanta below!

Last but not least, a Clayton Festival graduate and Monash resident Alejandro Aguanta. Who'd have thought performing regularly on our Monash streets is a TWO TIME champion at the Australian Busking Awards. Combining classical guitar with smooth South American influences, Alejandro completes our Winter Concert Series with a chilled out set of instrumental songs. We highly recommend tuning in and catching Alejandro Aguanta at a local concert soon.
