WordFest is an annual literature festival held by Monash Libraries.

The festival includes author talks, workshops, and short story and snap story competitions.

Short Story Competition

Celebrating 22 years of giving local and emerging writers a chance to air their stories, the annual Short Story Competition is open to all members of the Monash community aged 12 and older.

There are three categories:

  • 12-14 years
  • 15-17 years
  • Adult.

Cash prizes of up to $500 will be given to the winning entries. 

Entries for the Short Story  competition close at 4pm on Saturday 28 July 2018.

Entry forms and terms and conditions are available at your local library or on the Monash Public Library Service website.

SnapStory Competition

The SnapStory Competition is a celebration of visual storytelling in the medium of photography. It is open to all members of the Monash community between the ages of 12-18 years. 

There are two categories:

  • 12-15 years 
  • 16-18 years. 

Cash prizes and vouchers up to the value of $500 will be given to the winning entries. 

Entries for both the Short Story and SnapStory competitions close at 4pm on Saturday 28 July 2018.
