Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Vaccination for Expecting Mums and New Parents

Pertussis containing vaccine* is free for all pregnant women from 28 weeks gestation and their partners at any of our infant immunisation sessions or from your local GP.  Additionally, all parents/guardians of newborn babies will be eligible to receive free vaccine while their baby is still less than six months of age.

Who is eligible to receive the free vaccine?

  • pregnant women from 28 weeks gestation during every pregnancy
  • partners of women who are at least 28 weeks pregnant if the partner has not received a pertussis booster in the last ten years
  • parents/guardians of new babies, if their baby is under six months of age and they have not received a pertussis booster in the last ten years.

* Boostrix - diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough)

Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Pertussis containing vaccine (Boostrix) is available at a cost of $47 per dose. This is payable by credit card only at the immunisation session.
