Food and garden waste go together Starting July 2020, food scraps can go in your green waste bin that’s currently used for grass and garden prunings.
When we collect your green waste Green waste bins (green lids) and recycling bins (yellow lids) are emptied on alternate weeks. The bin is collected on the same day the red lidded rubbish bin is emptied.
What goes in your green waste Grass clippings, garden prunings, leaves and food scraps (fruit, vegetables, meat, coffee grounds, dairy, bread, rice, pasta and more).
What happens to your green waste We take your green waste to a local processor who turns it into mulch or compost. Keeping green waste out of landfill helps to reduce carbon emissions.
