Keeping bees (beehives)

Beekeeping may be conducted without a planning permit provided the activity complies with the requirements of the Apiary Code of Practice 2011.

If the requirements of the code cannot be met, then a planning permit is required.

If there is a concern that bee keeping has not met the Apiary Code of Practice, Council's Planning Investigations team can look into it further.
